![]() Readatorium & Digital Library
Thanks to funding received from The Princes Trust CYMRU, we have now set up our very own Readatorium which is a library with a twist...you can also borrow DVDs from us at no cost!!!
The Readatorium is a traditional library which offers a range of books but also has hundreds of DVDs in our Digital Library section that can be borrowed for upto two weeks FREE OF CHARGE. The only condition is that you are a member of Dowlais Engine House, whether it is as psrt of a football or netball team or you simply use the organisation for our Youth Club.
The Readatorium is run by a group of young people and is headed by Tomas Jessett who is the Project Leader. It was Tomas who originally came up with the idea and is so pleased to see how it has taken off so quickly.
Tomas said "We already have around 80 members who regularly loan books and DVDs. I feel proud to run this project for the benefit of all the young people. Not only that, but my team and I are also learning new skills about presentation, organisation and on top of all that skills that will be essential in the workplace".
If you would like to become a Member of the Readatorium, simply speak to any member of trhe group during opening times and present your Engine House Membership Card as proof of your ID.
The opening times for the Readatorium are as follows:-
Wednesdays 6.30pm - 7.00pm
Fridays 6.30pm - 7.00pm and 7.30pm - 8.00pm.
Please note that during the six week summer holidays, we will be open at different times, so please keep your eye out for more information.
